Softblocker: Productivity Timer for Unproductive Websites
Softblocker is a Chrome extension designed to enhance productivity and time management by setting timers on designated unproductive websites. Users can create a list of websites to mark as unproductive. Upon visiting these sites, the extension initiates a timer, customizable in length through options. Once the timer elapses, the tab transforms into a countdown phase, restricting activities on the tab. After the countdown finishes, normal tab functions resume, and the timer restarts.
This tool caters to individuals seeking a gentle nudge back to work without permanently blocking sites. Softblocker automates the process, sparing users the effort of manually initiating site lockdowns. However, it currently does not support multiple tabs across different Chrome windows. Customization options, including blocked websites list, timer duration, and freezing time, are easily accessible via the extension's settings.
